How to encrypt and decrypt using clipboard with Secure Hive
Important thing to remember; when using clipboard encryption you must highlight and copy text before encrypting or decrypting and then paste once identified as encrypted or decrypted.
Start using clipboard encryption, follow screen shots.
Step 1
| Start-All programs-secure hive- secure hive- Clipboard encryption, then click on Clipboard encryption to switch on. An icon will appear in your task tray next to your clock. |
Step 2
|
See icon, I have right mouse clicked, to highlight location of clipboard encryption icon. |
Step 3
|
Open a new or existing note pad, word pad etc. to create your encrypted message... My choice was note pad. |
Step 4
|
Highlight message right mouse click and copy then right mouse click on icon for clipboard encryption and select “encrypt clipboard”. |
Step 5
|
You will then be requested to enter a password, as you can see I have entered a password. At the bottom corner you can choose a data format HTML, Rich text format, text or Unicode text. My choice was text. |
Step 6
|
Once you have clicked encrypt clipboard, you will then see a message at task tray corner as above, the message says “The current Clipboard content has been encrypted” you then need to paste you copy back into note pad in this case, when pasted back it will look like this below |
Step 7
|
Save and close, not necessary I did as I wanted to give the file and name. I have now reopened to show how to decrypt. |
Step 8
|
Once opened you may want to decrypt so do Ctrl A or highlight text then copy, then right mouse click Icon and select decrypt Clipboard. |
Step 9
|
You will be asked to type correct password, so type in password that you used to protect your message, this would be the same request if you had passed this text on via an email or via a social media web site. |
Step 10
|
You will then see a message at task tray corner, as happened when encrypting, the message says “The Clipboard now contains the decrypted data” as before you then need to paste your copy back into note pad etc, it will look like this below. **Highlight message then right mouse click on “encrypt clip board”. (This was my message) |
Step 11
|
Totally decrypted. You can use the clipboard encryption to create messages for social media such as Facebook, msn etc. Both parties sending and receiving messages this way must have full version of Secure Hive 1.2 or above Installed. Not suitable for twitter as once message is encrypted it will generate over 140 charters. This applies to any other social media site or tool that restricts to a low usage of charters. |
